Mission Statement

Baked & Brunched sources seasonal products from local businesses, as well as organic sugars and honeys, and flours that are not bleached or enriched with unnecessary additives. Having a baked good is a “treat” – but why not have a healthy “treat”?

About Me...


Nakia Cheeks {Owner and Pastry Chef} is the driving force behind Baked and Brunched. Nakia holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland Global Campus, as well as a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Most recently, Nakia completed her Associate’s of Arts degree {Culinary Arts - Baking and Pastries} at Anne Arundel Community College. Nakia has always gravitated towards things that allowed her creativity to flourish. Baking quickly became her passion - a vessel for her to merge her creativity with her love of sweets! 


In addition to managing the operations of Baked and Brunched, Nakia is a devoted fur-mom to her spoiled and dear little Harper! Nakia also actively participates in charitable work - baking, decorating and donating 3-4 cakes on a monthly basis to an amazing organization that hosts birthday parties for special children living in shelters (Extraordinary Birthdays - https://www.extraordinarybirthdays.org/) On the rare occasions that she has spare time, Nakia LOVES antiquing, traveling and fellowshipping with loved ones.



About Us...


Baked and Brunched offers made-to-order baked goods, catered brunch foods and small plates, and tea parties! We offer healthy foods with ingredients sourced both locally and from organic suppliers, and we have a wide selection of Vegan, Vegetarian, Dairy-free and Dairy options! We source organic sugars and honeys, and flours that are not bleached or enriched with unnecessary additives. Not only are our products made fresh and from scratch, but ingredients are Organic, non-genetically modified, unenriched, unbleached, and we use natural food colorings when dying cookie/cake batters or icings. During this unnerving climate with COVID-19 at the forefront, people have become increasingly concerned with their health, and also the sanitation of food service businesses that they patronize. Baked and Brunched does not take this lightly. With your health and wellness in mind, we are taking the following steps to ensure your continued health and well-being while patronizing us: 1) Wearing masks and gloves while handling, preparing, baking/cooking, and packaging all goods; 2) Immediately ceasing production (and updating you all of same) at the first signs of any COVID-19 related symptoms; 3) Daily cleaning and sanitizing of frequently touched surfaces, utensils, and equipment; 4) Sanitizing and wiping down non-absorbent packaging before putting away; 5) Frequent handwashing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds before and after handling equipment, utensils, tools, ingredients, baked goods, and packaging (and anything else related to B&B production); and 6) We maintain a current ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification and COVID-19 Awareness Certification to ensure continued compliance with sanitation and health practices.
